Wire Rod
"The Infinite Thread of Industry." Serving as the fundamental feedstock for fasteners, springs, and wire ropes worldwide.
"The Versatile Feedstock"
Wire rod is rarely used "as is." It is the starting point—the raw material that feeds downstream industries. Its continuous length and coil form allow for high-speed automated processing like drawing and cold forming.
A semi-finished hot-rolled steel product, wound into irregular coils. produced from billets, it typically features a round cross-section with diameters ranging from 5.5mm to 42mm. Grades vary from Low Carbon (for mesh, nails) to High Carbon (for springs, ropes) and CHQ (Cold Heading Quality for fasteners).
"The Industrial Yarn" Just as a weaver needs a spool of yarn to create fabric, manufacturers need wire rod to create parts.
- Draw it thin, and it becomes binding wire.
- Twist it together, and it becomes the cable holding up a suspension bridge.
- Cut and stamp it, and it becomes the screws holding your phone together. It is the 'spool of steel' that knits the industrial world together.
Key Applications
- Fasteners: Bolts, Nuts, Screws, Rivets (Essential for CHQ grades).
- Springs: Automotive suspension springs, mechanical springs.
- Wire Ropes: Elevator cables, crane ropes, bridge cables.
- Construction: Welded wire mesh, barbed wire, nails.
- Welding: Core wire for welding electrodes.
